As we move into week 3 of the term and you are begining to feel your way into the module you are engaged with this term, you will all be looking in different ways within and outside of your own experiences to acknowledge the voice of others and the possibility of seeing your practice from another perspective.
This TEDtalk from Feminist author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie offers an excellent reminder of the need to be open to different perspectives, to avoid the 'danger of a single story'.

Beautifully written and spoken words of awareness and necessity. Here, in Canada, the country is divided in hate. This is such an important perspective. May we all understand we need each rich full human being to make this world work. Each of us is a contributing piece in the whole.
ReplyDeleteIt also speaks loudly to me regarding choice and ethical considerations as we move into our research. How we tell the story is important. What we include or leave out. Seeking full rich diverse information is be vital to seeing the whole picture.
